Ettunombu 2011

As a part of Ettunombu special prayers were held at church from September 1 to September 7 th.A procession was held to Parish church on 7 th September 2011 after offering Prayers at Kusavarkal Chapel.The Jananaperunnal of St Mary was held at Church on September 8 th 2011.The perunnal was followed by distribution of Nerchayappams.

Reception to Padayatra

A padayathra was organised from the parish on the 10 th of July 2011 by Trivandrum Vaidika Jilla at 4:00 pm.A large number of devotees from parish attended.
Hundreds of pilgrims from all parts of kerala who started their journey from Ranni ,Perunadu were given a warm reception at the entrance of the church at 03:00 pm on 14 th of July 2011.After prayers at the church the pilgrims left for Pattom Cathedral church to attend the 58 th feast of commemoration of the Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios.On 17 th July a Holy Qurbana was held in Parish for Daivadasan Mar Ivanios thirumeni

Pally Perunal 2011,a Report

The Dhukrono Perunnal of St Thomas the Apostle ,started with the flag hoisting ceremony by our Vicar Rev Fr Thomas Sajeev Theckecharuvil on 26 th June 2011.On 27 th of June 2011 ,a prayer meeting was held in the church under the leadership of Bethania Prayer Group.

Rev Fr.Joseph Poovathur(Rector,St .Alosyious Minor Seminary),Rev Sr.Namitha SIC (Mar Ivanios Missiological Centre),Rev Fr. Mathew Puthoor OFM (Vicar Ranigiri ,Church Mannanthala ) delivered spiritual lectures on 28 th,29 th and 30 th of June respectively.

The highlight of the Perunnal was the the “Rasa “(ceremonial procession).The Rasa started at 06:45 pm from the church after the evening prayers led by Vicar Rev Fr Thomas Sajeev and Assistant Vicar Rev Fr Benedict Moozhikkara.The church ,kurissadi and its surroundings were illuminated.The Rasa started from the church lead by MCYM members with Ponkurissu at the beginning followed by ornamental umbrellas , traditional chendamelam. and band set.Parishioners chanted prayers as they carried lit up candles. Our parish members greeted the “Rasa” in front of their houses and shops with the traditional “vechuvirippu”.People from all communities greeted the perunal Rasa with much spirit and enthusiasm.The Rasa went up to Amset Junction and returned via College Steps to church. There was a grand display of fireworks as the Rasa entered the church.

The perunnal celebration concluded on 3 rd of July 2011.A warm reception was given to His Grace Samuel Mar Iraneous thirumeni at 6:30 am at the church.The perunnal Holy Qurbana was lead by His Grace Samuel Mar Iraneous and was assisted by Rev Fr Thomas Sajeev and Rev Fr Benedict Moozhikkara.A total of 24 children received their first Holy Communion. Neyyappams brought from the parishioner’s homes blessed by thirumeni were distributed after the Holy qurbana.A New copy of the Parish Bulletin was released by His Grace Samuel Mar Iraneous thirumeni.

The Annual day Celebrations of Sunday School and Spiritual Organisations were conducted on 3 rd of July 2011 .Annual reports of Sunday School,MCYM,MCA,Mathrusanghom,Vincent De Paul and Legion of Mary were presented.Dr Alexander Jacob ,IPS ,ADGP Kerala was the chief guest.Prizes were distributed to Sunday School children by the chief guest.Cultural programmes by talented young children,MCYM,MCA and Mathrusanghom of the parish were held along with the Annual day meeting.

Parish day 2010

The parish day for the year 2010 was celebrated on January 10 th.Rev Fr Premkumar offered the Holy Qurbana.Parish day started with the flag hoisting ceremony at St Gorettis School ground.Parish community actively participated in various events and games.The celebrations ended with the Lunch

Christmas Celebration 2010

Christmas Carol service were conducted by all the 11 prayer groups of the church.People from all age groups partcipated in the Carol Services of respective Prayer Groups

The Holy Midnight Mass and Christmas celebrations led by Rev Fr Thomas Sajeev was attended by hundreds of believers.As a part of the celebrations the congregation went in a procession with lit up candles around Nalanchira Junction.MCYM members decorated the church with lights ,stars and 'Pulkoodu'

Aadya phala perunnal 2010

The harvest festival was celebrated on December 6 and December 13 th of 2010.Harvests and a wide variety of other Offerings were brought from homes and the same was auctioned after the Holy Qurbana.A large number of parish members actively participated in the event
